Chapter 2
The Day Everything Changed
“Please do not be alarmed. I am a god from another world and my name is Zecks. The sound you just heard was our two worlds colliding on a dimensional plane.”
The voice was being heard directly in my head, it was like wearing ear buds. As I looked around and saw the reactions on everyone’s faces I knew I wasn’t the only one. I stood up and stood next to Mia and put my hand on her shoulder. When she feels my hand she looks up at me and I see the fright in her eyes.
“Carl, do you hear it?” Mia asks.
“Yes.” I responded.
“This happens from time to time. The gods from each world work together to figure out the reason and if we can separate them. Usually there is a reason when it does happen. It has only been an instant for you but we believe we know the ‘why’, but not sure if we can separate the worlds at this time.”
I notice a boy named Jason Johnson in front of Mia take out his phone and open a news app. It is showing 2 people sitting at the desk just sitting there and it says ‘live’ in the top right corner. So it isn’t just here.
“The reason we believe we know is because your world ‘Earth’ is overpopulated and ours, Arth, is underpopulated.”
What do they plan to take a bunch of us there? Japan has a term for that I think, ‘Isekai’.
“Some of you are wondering if we plan to take you there? No we do not. No one will be forced to come to our world. We used to do that, but haven’t for over a hundred years. I will tell you about our world. It is a world of swords and magic. We have monsters and dungeons. Dungeons are like cave systems where monsters live and by going through them you can find treasures, gold, gems, weapons and rare ores.”
“Cool.”
“I want to go.”
“Me too!”
“Sign me up.”
I can hear guys, not only in this class but in other classes as well getting excited.
At that time the door flew open and two female teachers rushed in. I don’t take their classes but I know who they are, Miss Reni and Miss Yamada.
“We need to move.” Miss Yamada said.
“Now!” says Miss Reni
Akeno jumped up and grabbed her bag and came over to us, grabbed Mia's bag and handed both to Mia.
I bent down and whispered in Mia’s ear, “Are they your other bodyguards?”
She nodded yes.
I grabbed my bag, helped Mia up and we headed out of the room.
As we walked out I heard the guys whispering behind us. They really need to grow up.
“Do you have a safe location to head to?” I asked the others.
“We will head to our dorm room right now. We have all our supplies there.” Miss Reni replies. “Do you have any weapons with you?”
“I have to be 18 to get a handgun, but I have a pepper spray ball gun for emergencies.” I replied
“Is it within easy reach?”
“One in a shoulder holster, three in the bag along with extra ammo of pepper spray, rubber balls and paint balls. Not lethal but can cause some pain.I also have some throwing knives and combat knives in the bag.” I said.
“Good, we only have knives on us. Please be ready to pull them out at any time.” Miss Yamada answered.
Meanwhile the voice was still sounding in our heads during all of this.
“Your world may experience some changes and ours may as well. Worlds connected seem to bleed to each other world. I believe dungeons may slowly form in your world. We have nothing like your airplanes and am not sure how our two worlds interaction will affect those, so I would recommend shutting those down for the time being till you know for sure.”
We made it to the girl’s dorm in about five minutes. After going in the door we took an elevator to the 3rd floor. I thought we would head down the main hall but instead stopped at the door on the left right away. Miss Reni opened the door and we went in, closed and locked the door behind us.
“We should be okay here till we find out what is going on.” Miss Reni said. “By the way, I am Lisa Reni and this is Sazuki Yamada.”
“It’s nice to meet you, I just wish it was under different conditions.” I said.
We settled down in chairs to listen and see if we could learn anything else from the god Zecks.
“In our world there are guilds for different occupations. There is the Adventures Guild for those who explore and fight monsters in the world. The Explorers Guild for those who explore dungeons. Usually people who join one, also join the other since they are closely related. There is also the Merchants Guild and Alchemist Guild. If I am right and dungeons start to form in your world you might want to think about if you would want to be an Explorer or work outside the dungeons. I bring this up because we also have on our world ‘skills’ they are gifts given to the people of our world. Some help in the dungeon, some for help running the guilds and others for processing items from in and outside of the dungeons. It will take a few days to a month for dungeons to form, they will be small at first but can grow to be many layers. For now I will just ask you to think of what you want to do if they do form. In a few days if we see signs of them forming I will contact you again.”
And the voice cuts off.
“Talk about leaving us on a cliffhanger.” I mumble
